With the building of a new community centre planned for Loscoe, inventive fundraising ideas from local residents are pushing this ahead. A stylish walkway is planned for the site, with a route of pavers engraved with names and messages. Anyone is able to buy a paver engraving for £40. For those living in the area it is the chance to have their name or sentiments written into the fabric of the build, an enduring legacy that they and future generations can see and enjoy. These are proving to be popular gifts and attracting interest from all ages who like the idea of contributing to the new village hall and leaving a visible legacy of their footprints in Loscoe.

Chair of Charles Hill Centre CIO, John McCulloch says: "We are delighted to have been awarded this grant of £25,000 from the Police & Crime Commissioner's Vulnerability Fund towards the cost of construction of the new Community & Sports Pavilion at Charles Hill. The Police & Crimes Commissioner, Hardyal Dhindsa, and his team recognise the enormous value that the new facility at Charles Hill will bring to the local community and sporting groups, and to residents of all ages in and around Loscoe and Heanor"
